190th Anniversary Celebration

Please join us on Sunday, February 23, 2025, as we gather to celebrate the 190th anniversary of the Clover Hill Dutch Reformed Church.

The celebration will directly follow the worship service in the Nevius Fellowship Hall. It will center around our history and a meal that would be typical in our area in 1834.

We will have a display with memorabilia from our past. We will show a video slide of our past. For children, we will have games that were typical in 1834 such as Hot Potato and Checkers.

We would like to know if you can join the celebration in one of the following ways: sign up on the Fellowship Bulletin Board in the Narthex, email the church office chrc1834@gmail.com, or by Signup Genius https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F054AAFA728A7FA7-54697915-190th#/. Please let us know if you can bring an item from our 1834 menu.

Ham, Roast Chicken, Roast Beef and Gravy, Brown Bread, Potatoes, Apple Sauce, Beets, Green Beans, Bread Pudding, Apple Pie.

We look forward to a special time of fellowship as we join together to look back over the shared joys and challenges that have brought us to this day and to look toward the future.

CHRC Adult Education - Forgiveness: Reading/Conversation

Sundays after Service, NFH. - (February 2, 9, 16 & March 2). Call/email church office for info/registration. Facilitator: Gary Keck

Forgiveness. How can a gift so essential to our faith be so difficult to put into practice? Why does the ideal fall so short when we try to effect it in the practical reality of our lives? What are your beliefs, experiences, and emotions about forgiveness?

Come join a conversation group in response to challenging readings - Biblical, theological, and worldly.  Selections should be read ( or perused as your time allows) for each session. No tests, no quizzes, no essays, no trivia contests, just an enjoyable exchange of thoughts and reactions. We will gather on four Sundays after worship to consider the following readings:

2/2 - Making Sense of Forgiveness (Brad Hambrick)

2/9 - a short story and an interview (to be provided at the first session)

 2/16 - Forgiven (Terri Roberts)

3/2 - Sirens of Titan (Kurt Vonnegut, Jr)

Limited copies are available in the church office. Please return each for others’ use as you finish.
